Thanks to everyone who has already sent in questions ([email protected]) for my new Q&A series.
Several of you asked for my thoughts on Twilight.
I do in fact have some opinions.
Be forewarned: They are negative.

I actually agree with you on the whole twilight saga obsession. It was way to drawn out. However, I did think the book had a very good story line but If someone else would have wrote it, it probably would have been a lot better. The movie was good too, just sometimes the acting got alittle….corny.

Alright, well may I warn YOU that I am one of those crazy obsessed Twilight fans.
So, my Vocational Agriculture teacher today, turned on one of your videos.
I can’t remember very far back, but my parents and teachers swear I did not say one full sentence until second grade. And, they always say they remember one certain day. I came home, in fourth grade, with a graded assignment which was on, ‘what the world needs.’ No sooner than they got in the door I was reading it to them. I don’t remember very far back, but I do remember always wanted to be a writer. I wanted to talk to people. So, whether it became writer or motivational speaker, I didn’t care. I just wanted my words to mean something more.
Well, I saw one of you videos today, and past all my idiotic giggling (and the ice glares of other students) I got the point. In my classmate’s eyes–and even in my friend’s eyes for this matter–I’m probably the biggest dork EVER for admitting how much I liked it. Yeppp. I loved it.
So, ANYWAY, I’m a new fan. But, uh, may I also warn you: I HAVE VERY STRONG OPINIONS. So, umm, Twilight. Yeah. I will agree that Stephenie Meyer–through Bella–gets a little too, um, descriptive. But, when you do get past all the lovey-lovey-dovey-dovey-love, there’s actually a good story. But what the freak, Bella falls asleep and misses the whole thing? Yeah. Frustrating, I know. Twilight was not the easiest book ton read. But, being a hopeless romantic, I loved the book. Then I read the rest of the saga. Much, much, much better. Actually, so much better, that I had to dedicated a blog to it (http://twilightersblog97.blogspot.com/).
Alright, I’m done. For now.
Love you AND Twilight!

lol omg you’re hilarious. 0:55 lol omg the way you’re describing Bella. I liked the books but you’re hilarious. The movie was good too but the acting could’ve been better at certain points. You’re so funny though.

It looks like there is going to be WAYY more action in the next movie. But I totally agree with you. I think the whole series seems a little elementary and sappy.

I completely agree with you! I do in fact have all four books of the Twilight series, but I could not get past the first one. I mean I loved the plot line, but it was just 300 pages longer than it needed to be! haha! I still have to read the rest of the books, so maybe my opinion will change. But currently, I guess I expected so much more out of this book, you know?
In the meantime, while I’m here writing… lol… you came to my school last week! WTHS or “township” haha. I completely fell in love with your speech. I seriously thought this was going to be some lame assembly about some guy with no leg. I thought there would be some old man in a wheel chair saying how he lost his leg in a war and show us a lame powerpoint on something stupid. But from the moment you walked on the stage, you blew me away. Seriously, I had my homework out and ready to do and I just put it all away because I was so interested in what you had to say. I think people, students especially, need a role model; someone they can talk to or listen to. You’re young like us, so you were so easy to relate to and connect with. It was amazing and very inspirational! Thank you!!!

Josh,
Omg! That was so funny! Haha actually i loved the book but more for the romance than the fight….Sorry!! Oh but the way u said it did make it feel like that book was a total waste of time! But i can’t change my opinion now! New moon is coming out and i have read the whole series and look forward to the movies. Lol. Well i hope u read another book that maybe interests u a little more!

I agree but yet i dont. See i love the romance and the way bella describes things instead of just saying it. thats the whole part of the book is to look at the details of things and make u want to read more instead of just saying wat happend. yet i agree it does need more fighting. Such as the book The Vampire Diaries. now that is romance wit alot of fighting.

I think that it may be somewhat of a guy thing that you don’t like Twilight. I personally loved the book but not for the fighting, for the romance between Edward and Bella, and have read it multiple times. I have you know, that the next books have more action scenes that you may enjoy.

If you want to read a good series of books about vampires you should read the Cirque du Freak books by Darren Shan. They are great books with a lot of action. I even think that the author from Twilight stole some of the ideas for her vampires from the books(except for stuff like good looks, love story, and other stuff like that.) Anyway, I enjoy watching your videos. My Ag class watched the video from your speech at the FFA convention and I thought you were hilarious.

I agree that Twilight was horrible. The movie just absolutely ruined the book series. The book set is AWESOME though, so take some spare time that you might have and read it for me. I promise you itll be worth it.

While I agree with you that Bella does get a wee bit descriptive a big part of being a writer is describing things, but you should know that being that you have written books before. I want to be a writer but I in no was describe that much. Also I know, the whole series was disapoiting another one of those “oh look I’m a damsel save me!” books. Please!

I agree with you on both your points. Bella is a little razy, and in all honesty she only gets worse throughout all of the books. She bugs me. Second I like the vampire combat as well, and I agree Twilight did not have enough of it. However, that might be one of the reason why Eclipise is my favorite book out of the serise, there is some pretty intense vampire action that Bella is wide awake for, and even participates in.
I can explain why every gil ont he plant thinks they’re so great and why every guy seems to hate them.
Girls love the love story, they love to believe that something like that exists, its the unrequited love thing that is an absolutly timeless plot, Romeo and Juliet, Pride and Prejudice etc.
Guys hate the Stephanie Meyer has raised the bar to an impossible height. Or at least thats what I’ve heard from most guys. Haha.
Personally, one of the reason I enjoy the books is because I’m from Washington, I live just 2 hours away from Forks. It’s more real for me because I know what its like to live here. So I find that aspect of the book enjoyable

I hated the book so much I actually choked and/or gagged at several points. I absolutely refuse to see the movies or read anything else Stephanie Meyer has written. The fans drive me nuts more so even than Naruto and Death Note fans. I see no point to being so hardcore into something that you would be willing to physically hurt or try to kill those who don’t like it and are willing to share their opinions. I’m pretty sure Meyer didn’t write the book so that people would go absolutely fricking nuts over it, right? Anyone willing to do that and troll others about it loses all respect in my opinion. I’m really, really glad that you don’t like Twilight, either.
